Get involved at The Philadelphia Art Alliance. Volunteers are needed all year long to assist the staff with special events and administrative duties. Please send inquiries to email@example.com.
Unpaid undergraduate and graduate internships are available over the summer months and may be arranged for credit or non-credit status. Philadelphia Art Alliance interns work closely with our professional staff to gain knowledge about various aspects of gallery work such as: administration, development, education, public relations, curatorial and planning special events and community programs. Every effort is made to tailor the duties of each individual intern to coincide with their particular academic and professional goals. We are no longer accepting applications for summer 2015. Please send any inquires to Michelle Polyak at firstname.lastname@example.org
Pre-K to 12th Grade
The Philadelphia Art Alliance is an approved arts provider for the Philadelphia Public Schools and welcomes teachers and their students to the museum. To support the educational work of teachers, the PAA will create teaching materials on exhibitions upon request.
The Philadelphia Art Alliance also collaborates several times throughout the year with college instructors to provide free tours to their students. During the course of the 2010-2011 season, over 35 tours were provided to area colleges as well as adult learning programs provided by such institutions as the Barnes Foundation.
Gallery Hours: Tuesday through Friday: 11 am – 4 pm
Group Size: Tours are designed for classes of up to 25 students. Larger groups may be accommodated by special arrangement prior
to the visit.
Admission Fees: $3 per student unless otherwise noted. Chaperones and teachers are admitted free of charge. It is recommended there be one chaperone for every six students in grades 3 to 6. For children in grades 2 and under, additional chaperones are suggested.
Visit preparation: Educators will receive a confirmation prior to a scheduled visit. Exhibitions have pre-visit materials, which will be mailed approximately two weeks prior to the visit. The pre-visit material and the rules of conduct should be reviewed prior to the field trip. Educators find that students who understand why they are visiting the museum and know what to expect find the visit experience more rewarding.
Accessibility: Tours are available to all students. Please inform the Philadelphia Art Alliance of any special needs that your students may have when making your reservation.
